No.743
27th February 2009

So now I've reached my 70th year
There's little left for me to fear
Perhaps my life is nearly done
But at least I didn't snuff it young

The fact is of course you never know
How much of life there's left to go
So make the most of what you've got
Today is yours, tomorrow maybe not

But as for me, I struck it rich
I scratched life's ever present itch
I learned to run, though now I walk
I learned the joys of love and talk

I learned how metaphor and rhyme
Can satisfy as the clock's bright chime
precision counts the passing hours
With maths as pure as any flower's

Now physics, meta or precise
An equally powerful device
Fills full my life with such delight
I do not fear the coming night

So shed no tears when I depart
We'll miss each other for a start
But life goes on so enjoy it hey!
Perhaps we'll meet another day
