Sex and the Thai girl:

As my trip to Bangtao comes to an end, at least for this season, I have come to a slightly alarming conclusion about Thai girls. It is this:
Many Thai girls just don’t like sex.
Of course I leave myself wide open to the charge that it is just that they don’t want sex with me. This may well be true also but I have talked to many local girls and indeed the occasional honest farang and the conclusion is this: Many Thai girls just don‘t like sex.
When life springs these unexpected results on me I strive hard to find a reason. I think it is this:
Whereas in our farang culture a girl expects to be loved and sex is a part of that package here in Thailand girls often do not have such great expectations. To put it bluntly, sex is something which is just thrust upon them, as it were.

I‘m afraid I have to go back again and start by blaming the local culture where women generally seem to get a pretty raw deal. If by the time she is eighteen a girl is pregnant by a man whose main hope is that she never sees him again then what does this do to the girls attitude to men and sex?

Here in Phuket we have a large number of Thai girls pursuing a considerable number of farangs with the intention of extracting money from them for sexual services.

One girl I was talking to said to me, very matter-of-factly, that she “doesn’t actually enjoy sex but if I wanted it then that was fine!”

For me that is a complete turn off but I suspect, in fact I know, that for many men it is not.

One guy I met quite cheerfully said to me that it was all just a game. “She tries to get as much money from me as she can and I try to get as much sex before doing a runner and leaving her the loser.” “Serves her right. Someone has to lose and it ain’t gonna be me!”

It would be an understatement to say that this attitude really saddens me. Is this really what it comes down to? If so then it puts the farang in the same category as the young Thai male who got her pregnant in the first place. At least the Thai guy had his youthful inexperience as an excuse.

So here we are with a girl who has been treated with sexual contempt by her compatriot at home and is now getting the same treatment from a farang.

She says she doesn’t like sex.

I’m not bloody well surprised!
